Asolo Italy National ParkAsolo Italy National Park, He was born as Andrea di Pietro della Gondola in Padua, then part of the Republic of Venice. His talents were first recognized in his early thirties by Count Gian Giorgio Trissino, an influential humanist and writer. As the leading intellectual in Vicenza, Trissino stimulated the young man to appreciate the arts, sciences and Classical literature and granted him the opportunity to study Antique architecture in Rome.Trissino also gave him the name by which he is now known, Palladio, an allusion to the Greek goddess of wisdom Pallas Athene All the more that quite recently an Iranian delegation (**) consisting of Managing Director Mohammad-Mehdi Asgarpur, Deputy Director Farhad Tohidi, spokesman Amin Tarokh, and Directors Guild of Iran Managing Director Alireza Raiisian have also responded to an invitation from their Hollywood counterparts and UCLA Film & Television department to participate to a series of retrospectives and screenings of Iranian films during a festival entitled “Up Close and Personal: Iranian Filmmakers in Their Own Words” from October 9 to 16. In addition, filmmakers Ebrahim Hatamikia, Rakhshan Bani-Etemad, Reza Mirkarimi, Mojtaba Raei, documentarian Mojtaba Mirtahmasb, and actress Fatemeh Motamed-Arya will take part in the discussions with film enthusiasts and students at UCLA. Proving if needed that both film communities can learn from one another and boost interest and exchanges between the Iranian and Hollywood film professionals for the first time in 30 years. Asolo Italy National Park 1 If Americans have heard the proper noun Asolo, they think of it as an Italian brand of athletic shoes and mountaineering boots. Veteran travelers in northern Italy know better. Asolo, as I discovered with my wife, Rosalie, during a weeklong visit in early July, is a small, heavenly Italian hill town (population, 1,500). It perches above wooded slopes on the edge of the agricultural and industrial plain, or pianura, which extends north and west from Venice and the Adriatic Sea to the foothills of the Dolomites, the towering limestone peaks that form the eastern buttress of the Italian Alps. There, we plotted the next day’s expedition over a plate of local cheeses washed down with glasses of amarone, the robust red wine of the Veneto, the region that arcs around Venice. If it was hot, we sipped flutes of chilled prosecco, a light, sparkling wine produced in nearby Valdobbiadene, before dining on a regional dishes such as baccala, or salted cod. Asolo Italy National Park 2Palladio (1508-1580) revolutionized architecture by adapting ancient Greek and Roman architectural motifs to churches, government buildings and country villas of his day. Through his “Four Books of Architecture,” he influenced everyone from Sir Christopher Wren to Thomas Jefferson to itinerant carpenters on the American frontier. LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE, with Gilbert, Blanchard and Lindsay, had its world premiere production in August, 2008 at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, where it shattered all box office records and sold out for 12 consecutive weeks. Initiated for the stage by Adrianne Lobel (Frog and Toad) and Francesca Zambello, the show is directed by Zambello (Disney’s The Little Mermaid), with music by Academy Award® winner Rachel Portman (Emma), lyrics by Donna di Novelli and a book by Tony Award® winner Rachel Sheinkin (The 25TH Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee). Michele Lynch is choreographer and Kevin Stites is musical supervisor. Asolo Italy National Park 3“If the success at the Guthrie Theater is any indication, tickets to LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE at TPAC are going to go very fast,” said Kathleen O’Brien, TPAC’s president and CEO. “The popularity of these beloved characters and stories has traveled from the classic series of novels to the successful television series, creating a sense of nostalgia that multiple generations experience. And now, this stunning live musical will revisit those fond memories for existing fans of LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE as well as introduce the series to brand new audiences. Additionally, the rich subject matter has opened the doors for many meaningful community partnerships, including our area Habitat for Humanity, and The Seeing Eye, an amazing organization that trains dogs as companions for blind and visually impaired people. Partnerships like these are an important enhancement of the performing arts experience, opening the door for conversations and action as well.”

Yap Asolo Italy 1Yap  Asolo Italy, Yap, also known as Wa’ab for locals, is an island in the Caroline Islands of the western Pacific Ocean. It is a state of the Federated States of Micronesia. Yap’s indigenous cultures and traditions are still strong compared to other neighboring islands. The “island” of Yap actually consists of four continental islands (hence the alternative name of the Yap Islands). The four are very close together and joined within a common coral reef and entirely formed from an uplift of the Philippine Sea Plate. The land is mostly rolling hills densely covered with vegetation. Mangrove swamps line much of the shore. An outer barrier reef surrounds the islands, enclosing a lagoon between the fringing barrier reef.

Yap Asolo Italy 3US President Barack Obama has won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize less than one year after he took office. He was honoured “for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples,” the head of the Norwegian Nobel Committee Thorbjoern Jagland said.

Today, she continues to pursue her career full-time, juggling work with the responsibilities of looking after her family.Having terminal cancer used to imply a short survival of perhaps a few months, but chemotherapy treatment of breast cancer has made important breakthroughs in recent years. With advances in medicine, the definition of ‘terminal’ is changing.

Yap Asolo Italy 2A two-pronged strategy in breast treatment involves, first, the local treatment of the affected breast and its surrounding areas and, second, the whole-body treatment to purge the body of remnant cancer cells that may still be hiding in other parts of the body and which may trigger a relapse in future, said Dr Wong.

With the new Yahoo homepage that was previewed last July and is now rolling out more broadly as part of Yahoo’s new “It’s Y!ou” branding exercise, the main Yahoo homepage is taking on more of the personalization features on MyYahoo. There are all sorts of handy widgets in the left-hand column ranging from Facebook status updates to Gmail to any news feed (just type in a URL like Techcrunch.com and it will add the feed). When you hover over any of the widgets, a box opens up covering most of the homepage with information from that widget.

Yap Asolo Italy 5Colonia is the capital of the State of Yap. It administers both Yap proper and 14 atolls reaching to the east and south for some 800 km (500 mi), namely Eauripik, Elato, Fais, Faraulep, Gaferut, Ifalik, Lamotrek, Ngulu, Olimarao, Piagailoe (West Fayu), Pikelot, Sorol, Ulithi, and Woleai Atolls, as well as the island of Satawal (municipalities in bold).2003 population was 6,300 in both Colonia and ten other municipalities. The state has a total land area of 102 km² (38.7 sq mi).

Yap Asolo Italy 6Yap is notable for its stone money, known as Rai: large doughnut-shaped, carved disks of (usually) calcite, up to 4 m (12 ft) in diameter (most are much smaller). The smallest can be as little as 3.5 centimetres (1.4 in) in diameter . There are five major types of monies: Mmbul, Gaw, Fe’ or Rai, Yar, and Reng, this last being only 0.3 m (1 ft) in diameter. Many of them were brought from other islands, as far as New Guinea, but most came in ancient times from Palau. Their value is based on both the stone’s size and its history. Historically the Yapese valued the disks because the material looks like quartz, and these were the shiniest objects around. Eventually the stones became legal tender and were even mandatory in some payments.
