TORONTO: Leaders of the Group of 20 developed and emerging nations opened talks here late Saturday, according to images shown on the official host television.
The 20 leaders were officially greeted at the start of the talks in a plush hotel by Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper whose country is hosting back-to-back summits of the G20 and Group of Eight richest nations.
The G20 leaders were to hold two days of talks in Toronto starting with an official dinner. They will focus on how to shore up the fragile global economic recovery, and debate controversial plans for tighter financial regulation.
The G20 is a new grouping, first crowned with a summit in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and is comprised of the G8 richest nations plus emerging major economies, such as Australia, Brazil, China and India.
The Group of Eight richest nations — Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Italy, Russia and the United States — wrapped up their two-day summit earlier Saturday after talks in an exclusive lakeside resort.
Alexsandra Wright
Alexsandra Wright, Since it’s come out that Alexsandra Wright and Beyonce Knowles’s father, Matthew Knowles, had a child, Beyonce’s relationship with her father has been strained. Now executives at Columbia Records are concerned about the relationship.
Since her dad managers her, not talking to him has started to impact her career, according to the off the record comments made by people from the company that Beyonce has her recording contract with.
I’m sure this is a difficult time for Beyonce and no one from the outside can really know what she is going through. Still, she needs to be mature about both her professional and personal relationships. It’s never easy for a child to see their parents go through difficulties but dividing a family is never the way to go.
It can be attractive to keep the money in the family but there’s a difference between a professional relationship and a family one. Some of the talk includes implications that her father should no longer be her manager. These are the perils that come with working so closely with family.
G8 Summit Begins In Canada

The G-8 leaders are meeting in Canada today. World leaders were searching for common ground on economics, health, security and other issues as three days of summits.
Among the issues to be discussed will be fuirther sanctions on Iran over its nuclear programme – building on expanded Security Council measures adopted this month.
The US and EU want tough sanctions but China and Russia only reluctantly support sanctions, and have balked at new unilateral steps against Iran, saying any measures should not exceed those called for by the Security Council.
Some 12 leaders representing the fast-growing developing economies including China, India and Brazil also arrived to attend the summit. US President Barack Obama has called for more spending to keep world economies from slipping back into recession.
He is being rebuffed by leaders in Europe and Japan, who have emphasized cutting government spending and raising taxes to try to keep their deficits in check. Obama is also calling for an overhaul of financial regulations to prevent another global meltdown.
The G-20 group represents 85 percent of the global economy and the United States wants this group to endorse the outlines for global financial reform to eliminate the threat that banks facing tougher regulations in one jurisdiction will move their operations to countries with more lax rules.
Unmet pledges getting special attention this year: the G-8?s vow in Scotland five years ago to double international aid to Africa by 2010 and to make significant strides in providing access to AIDs treatment to all who need it.
Neither of those goals have been achieved. G8 comprises the US, Canada, Britain, Germany, France, Italy, Japan, and Russia.

OIC Calls For Global Action Against Israel

The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) called for the setting up of a group of legal experts to bring to justice Israeli officials who were responsible
for the attack on the Gaza-bound aid flotilla last Monday in which nine peace activists were killed and several others wounded.
Following an extraordinary meeting of the OIC Executive Committee, the organization’s Secretary-General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu said Israel was given a stern warning that its attack on the Freedom Flotilla was going to have far-reaching consequences.
The incident has isolated the Zionist state from the international community, which has united in condemning Israeli aggression, he said. Addressing a press conference after the meeting at the OIC headquarters in Jeddah, the OIC chief described Israel’s action as ‘a form of state terrorism and piracy,’ which warrants the prosecution of those who planned and executed it.
Flanked by Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad Al-Malki at the press conference, he invited OIC Ambassadorial Groups in New York and Geneva to work for the adoption of an international stand condemning ‘this odious crime’ and the lifting of the ‘lawless blockade on the Gaza Strip’. He paid special tributes to Turkey for its sacrifices and extended condolences to the families of those killed on the aid ship.
The meeting agreed that it was no longer a conflict between Israel and Palestine, rather it was Israel versus 32 countries whose citizens were on board the aid flotilla and who were of all faiths and backgrounds.
Meanwhile, the foreign ministers of France and Britain said an ‘international’ inquiry was necessary to resolve the dispute over Israel’s deadly raid on Gaza aid ships, after talks in the French capital. ‘We think it is very important that there is a credible and transparent investigation… there should be an international presence at minimum’ in the probe, said British Foreign Secretary William Hague at a press conference with his French counterpart Bernard Kouchner.

The new Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky
said she’s ready to find her man — and have babies. The “journey” began tonight, and I hereby publicly declare I will saw off and eat my own right arm if she achieves either of those goals via the 25 men ABC has graciously put forth. And, like all other seasons, they are promising a never-seen-before-ending. (Which I guess means she won’t pick one person, dump them and then marry the runner up like Jason Mesnick did.) Maybe Jake Pavelka dumps Vienna and swoops in around final four time for a second shot?
“The season finale is going to be really interesting and something I don’t think people would maybe expect or have seen before.
“I’m floored to have gotten this experience. It’s been a lot of fun,” she says in the interview.”I’ve traveled everywhere. How lucky am I? And I am so glad that I got to share that with the guys … If I didn’t find love this time, at least I know of some great spots to go in the future!”
24 Movie Finale TV Show

24 Movie Finale TV
Show:Is The Jack Bauer Movie A Sure Thing: the Jack Bauer Movie a Sure Thing for TV Series Finale After tonight, Jack Bauer is finally going to get a day off for a little while anyway. Though 24 is going off the air, there are plans to make a movie based on the TV show. It’s supposedly going to involve Jack battling some form of evil in Europe. But, where does it stand?
Executive producer Howard Gordon recently told Movieweb, “The current status of the movie is that Billy Ray has written a draft which Kiefer Sutherland has read, and we’re all working together on the second draft.”
He cautioned, “Now, it’s not been shared with Fox or anybody so there is no official status right now. It’s very much a work in progress. Honestly, the movie division is on the other side of the lot and I don’t know and can’t measure their intentions or their timing, and certainly can’t measure their reaction to the script because they haven’t read it yet. ”
Gordon concluded, “So I think it’s all very much speculative at this point. I think our preference would be to do it sooner than later, of course, and get Jack back out in front of people within a year or two, but I don’t know. That would be just me speaking.”
The executive producer believes that there’s a tricky balance in crafting the movie script. He shared, “There are two sets of requirements, which is honoring the series and the creative integrity of the character, and also potentially bringing in a whole new group of people into the franchise who can then go back and watch, and believe it’s been consistent. So I think we recognize that we’re serving two masters or two audiences here, not that they are mutually exclusive but there are two requirements.”
One thing’s for sure, the conceit of events happening in real time will likely have to be abandoned. Gordon has shared in the past that the format, though interesting, often limited what kinds of stories they could tell. He believes that the movie can still work without it though. He said, “I think Jack Bauer the character has got sufficiently broad and strong shoulders to carry a movie in this genre.”
Lance Armstrong Injured in Crash Hours After Denying Doping Charges

Lance Armstrong crashed and had to be transported to the hospital as the Tour of California wound from Visalia to Bakersfield on Thursday.
The seven-time Tour de France winner apparently collided with teammate Jos? Luis “Chechu” Rubiera and Armstrong suffered some cuts in the accident that occurred before 11 a.m. PT , his manager said in a Twitter message.
“Sorry to report there was a huge crash, with Chechu and Lance involved,” Johan Bruyneel wrote. “Lance had to abandon and is going to the hospital for X-rays.
The incident came on the same morning Armstrong denied allegations that he used performance-enhancing drugs made by former teammate Floyd Landis.
“It’s our word against his word,” Armstrong told reporters in Visalia. “I like our word. We like our credibility.”
Landis, who long denied he used performance-enhancing drugs after he was stripped of his 2006 Tour de France crown, admitted he doped and sent letters to cycling officials in recent week accusing other cyclists of being drug cheats as well.
“I would remind everybody that this has been a man who has been under oath many times and had a very different version,” Armstrong said. “This is a man who wrote a book for profit that had a completely different version.”
Armstrong was using the Tour of California as a tune up for the July’s Tour de France, which he was scheduled to compete in with upstart Team Radio Shack.
