Latest Updates Abouts Park Yong Ha , Park Yong-ha was discovered dead at his Nonhyun-dong, Seoul, home on the morning of June 30.
Park Yong-ha died at the age of 32, having debuted fifteen years ago in youth shows like KBS’s 1995 Love Blossoms in the Classroom and 1996’s Start. He shot to fame with 2002’s Winter Sonata, which made him a household name and a “Hallyu star.” He used that fame as a springboard a singing career in Japan, where he enjoyed quite a lot of popularity. He had a successful drama hit in 2008’s On Air, and totally stole my heart in 2009’s Story of a Man, which is one of my favorite dramas EVER.
Most recently, Park Yong-ha was cast alongside Yoon Eun-hye in the high-profile drama remake of Hong Kong film Tian Mi Mi, tentatively titled Love Song.
This is just… awful. Horrible and unexpected. Currently they are not ruling this a suicide, but that’s the foremost presumption.

G8 Summit Begins In Canada

The G-8 leaders are meeting in Canada today. World leaders were searching for common ground on economics, health, security and other issues as three days of summits.

Among the issues to be discussed will be fuirther sanctions on Iran over its nuclear programme – building on expanded Security Council measures adopted this month.

The US and EU want tough sanctions but China and Russia only reluctantly support sanctions, and have balked at new unilateral steps against Iran, saying any measures should not exceed those called for by the Security Council.

Some 12 leaders representing the fast-growing developing economies including China, India and Brazil also arrived to attend the summit. US President Barack Obama has called for more spending to keep world economies from slipping back into recession.

He is being rebuffed by leaders in Europe and Japan, who have emphasized cutting government spending and raising taxes to try to keep their deficits in check. Obama is also calling for an overhaul of financial regulations to prevent another global meltdown.

The G-20 group represents 85 percent of the global economy and the United States wants this group to endorse the outlines for global financial reform to eliminate the threat that banks facing tougher regulations in one jurisdiction will move their operations to countries with more lax rules.

Unmet pledges getting special attention this year: the G-8?s vow in Scotland five years ago to double international aid to Africa by 2010 and to make significant strides in providing access to AIDs treatment to all who need it.

Neither of those goals have been achieved. G8 comprises the US, Canada, Britain, Germany, France, Italy, Japan, and Russia.

Whitney Houston Postpones Paris Show Due To IllnessLOS ANGELES: U.S. pop diva Whitney Houston has postponed a concert in Paris on Tuesday night due to illness, delaying the European leg of a world tour that received a rocky reception in Asia and Australia.

Concert organizers said the 46-year-old singer had been excited about opening her European tour in Paris at the Omnisport Bercy and regretted having to postpone the show.

“Whitney is suffering from an upper respiratory infection and after a consultation with her doctors has been advised to postpone her performance,” said a statement from the concert’s organizers. “Whitney and her band apologize that the show has to be rescheduled on such short notice.”

Her tour will resume as scheduled in Manchester, Britain, on April 8 and a new date for Paris will be announced shortly.

Houston, one of the top selling U.S. female vocalists of all time, launched a comeback last year after battling drug addiction and released “I Look To You”, her first studio album in seven years that topped the U.S. and other international charts.

But her performance during her “Nothing but Love” world tour in Australia was panned by some critics and fans who walked out of her concerts, complaining she was off key, out of breath, and looked exhausted.

Her publicist Kristen Foster issued a statement denying Houston was having health problems and insisted she was in great health and having a “terrific time on her tour and with her fans.”

Houston’s tour began in South Korea in February with the singer performing in Japan then Australia. She is set to tour Britain, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland by June.

Japan Welcomed Decision By Delegates At A UN Wildlife Trade Meeting

Japan Welcomed Decision By Delegates At A UN Wildlife Trade MeetingDOHA : Japan welcomed on Friday a decision by delegates at a UN wildlife trade meeting to reject a ban on cross-border commerce in rapidly declining Atlantic bluefin tuna, a sushi mainstay.

Backers of a ban, the European Commission and the United States both regretted the result, with the Commission warning the consequences could be catastrophic for the future of the species.

After aggressive lobbying by the Japanese, the controversial proposal was crushed at a meeting in Doha of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES).

The proposal, which had been put forward by Monaco with the backing of the United States and European Union, had needed the support of two thirds of the nations present.

In the end, there were 68 votes against the measure, 20 in favour and 30 abstentions.

“We welcome the rejection” of a ban on cross-border trade of bluefin caught in the Mediterranean and eastern Atlantic as well as an amendment to allow a moratorium on the ban, a Japanese foreign ministry statement said.

“We will continue our efforts to get understanding of our country’s position” so that the rejection will be adopted at a general meeting on March 24-25, it added.

US Assistant Secretary of the Interior for Fish and Wildlife and Parks Tom Strickland lamented the vote as “a setback for the Atlantic bluefin tuna,” but vowed to “keep fighting” for the sustainable management of the fishery.

The European Commission warned that rejecting the ban threatened the species with extinction.

Environmental groups and experts also slammed the result.

“The abject failure of governments here to protect Atlantic bluefin tuna spells disaster for its future and sets the species on a pathway to extinction,” said Oliver Knowles of Greenpeace International.

Last November, ICCAT agreed to cut its catch for bluefin tuna in the Eastern Atlantic and Mediterranean regions by 40 percent, from 22,000 tonnes in 2009 to 13,500 in 2010.

Industrial-scale harvesting on the high seas has caused bluefin stocks to plummet by up to 80 percent in the Mediterranean and eastern Atlantic, the two regions which would have been affected by the ban.

A single 220-kilo (485-pound) fish can fetch 160,000 dollars (120,000 euros) at auction in Japan, which consumes three quarters of all bluefin caught in the world, mainly as sushi and sashimi.

Meanwhile, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) warned that another expensive delicacy, caviar, had pushed sturgeon into the most threatened creature on the planet.

“Four species are now possibly extinct,” it said in a report on the conference sidelines.
