US: Maryland Discovery hostage drama ends, Culprit killed

A gunman who took three hostages at the Discovery Communications headquarters in the US has been shot dead by police and his captives set free.
The gunman, named by US media as James Lee, had metallic canisters strapped to his chest and a handgun when he entered the building near Washington DC.
Police said they had opened fire because they thought he was about to detonate his explosives. Police Chief Thomas Manger told a news conference that there were, other suspected devices in the building that have not been rendered safe yet.

Obama Pledges US Support for New Palestine, Israel negotiations

US President Barack Obama urges Israeli and Palestinian leaders that they shouldnt let the chance of a permanent peace deal slip away. He says this moment of opportunity may not soon come again and pledges US support for the new negotiations.
Obama spoke because a day later a new round of direct talks between Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas is due to begin.
He spoke at the White House on Wednesday evening after meetings with Israeli PM Netanyahu, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Jordan’s King Abdullah II and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.Obama said the goal of the talks, which are expected to last a year, was a permanent settlement that ended the Israeli occupation that began in 1967 and resulted in an independent, democratic Palestinian state existing peacefully beside Israel.
US President said the US could not impose peace on the two parties, and that the US could not want peace more than them. He praised Mahmoud Abbas and Netanyahu as leaders who he believes want peace.

Fiedal CastroFiedal Catro is the former President of the Cuba. He is 83 years old and is the leader of the Cuban Communist Party. And he had not given any appearance to the public since december. But he had made his first public appearance of this year in his new outfit which is a tracksuit.

From the past four years he was not feeling well due to which he was at bedrest and was not giving any appearance to the public. But recently his pictures were seen on the pro- government blog of Cuba. There are reports that this leader was not well and was not appearing in the public but when he made his first visit of this year it was to a scientific facility. In these pictures he was wearing a blue and white tracksuit. And he is surrounded by the workers of the Scientific Research Center.

He had made a surprise visit at the National Center for Scientific Research. He is a thin man but in the tracksuit he was looking good. The workers of the Research Center said that he was not looking ill at all but was looking a healthy guy.

He had governed the Cuba for almost five decades but he had to quit because of his illness. And in 2006 he left his Presidentship aside as his health was not allowing him to take the strees so he quit. But he started writing the political columns for the state media through which he stayed connected with the Cuba.

Is u know Miss Mississippi 2010 :- Miss Metro Jackson was chosen Saturday night in front of a crowd of 2,200 in an almost packed Vicksburg Convention Center after a week of preliminary competitions.

She will receive a $10,000 scholarship from the Miss Mississippi Corp. and will represent the state in the Miss America pageant in Las Vegas in January.

First runner-up went to Jill Duckworth, Miss Spirit of the South; second runner-up was Kristen Benigno, Miss University of Southern Miss; third runner-up was Caitlyn Smith, Miss Delta Blues; and fourth runner-up was Miss Mississippi State University Fenly Akers.

Top 10 semifinalists were Miss Delta Blues Caitlyn Smith; Miss Spirit of the South Jill Duckworth; Miss Mississippi State University Fenley Akers; Miss Metro Jackson Sarah Beth James; Miss Meridian Mary Margaret Roark; Miss Clinton Kellis McSparrin; Miss University of Southern Mississippi Kristen Benigno; Miss Dogwood Festival Jessica Terrill; Miss Mid South Danielle Smith; and Miss Alcorn County Chelsea Rick.
